Rear Axle

My rear axle and differential is full of water . I removed the rear cover plate and the axle shafts . It looks like a lot of rust damage . The axle seals are destroyed and the bearing all pitted . This is going to take a while to repair .

Here are the numbers for the bearings used on my rear differential and axle . My rebuilder of my differential ordered the main bearing where the drive shaft attaches to the differential . Complete with an oil seal built into the bearing from Timken ?

The original part number and manufacture was NEW DEPARTURE 5309 T Does T stand for Timken ? ? Was this a original Timken Bearing I do not know ?

TIMKEN TAPERED ROLLER BEARINGS 332 On the back of the box there is bar code 332 - 20024 . I will photocopy and mail you a copy of the box along with the cheque for the handle knobs .

The oil seals for the rear axles where tough to find as the axle had an odd size . We used CR Chicago Rawhide 21763
