Reproducing Hood Latches

From Mike:John Little has been reproducing hood latches for his Royale and says he doesn’t mind sharing his progress. Attached is a photo of four fully functional latches that he fabricated after several failed attempts at machine shops. He doesn’t recommend trying the same process, unless you have lots of spare time.He originally had the pieces cast and tried to mill them to be usable. After considerable effort, that failed. He reports that if he had cast them in brass he would have had better results.Also attached are fabrication drawings he made based on an original latch from my ’31 Royale sedan.
