Wood graining for Running Boards
Question from a member. Any thoughts?Hello to all.. Just decided copying back would be an easy way to get this out there and see what you folks think....You may remember a while back I sent out a question about the wood like material on the top of my running boards.. Severalof you indicated it might be possible to simply flip it over and re use it.. I was hopeful that I would in fact be able to do that.Sadly while the flip side of mine does actually look fairly decent, it is very brittle and cracks easily.. No way I will be able to makeit work on the car.. I have saved them between some flat pieces in a climate controlled area as I do believe they will serve as excellentpatterns to use for the replacement material.. Thus my main question at this point, do you folks have any additional suggestions asto the best option for replacement.. I was struck by how different the flip side color is than what mine showed on top. Obviously tobe expected after all these years.. The flip side of mine is a beautiful much darker and heavily red tinted color, almost like a cherrywood or something to that effect.. I really want to get as close to it as I can ???
