Snap Rings

We have a need for 18 inch snap rings (the steel ring that holds the tire to the rim). I need 6, Victor needs 2 and John needs some also. I have researched this and the only company that I have found that was even making them was American Arrow owned by Don Sommers. I talked to Don at the Hersey meet and he said he stopped making them some time ago because of the liability issues and the difficulty in getting them right.I also learned that there were two style snap rings, A & B. The difference being the 90 degree angle of the metal where it slides under the rim vs one that is 45 degrees. I bought a pair at Hershey and once I validate they work with our wheels I will search for more.They are scarce but not impossible to find.

I sent a wheel to Coker to see if their new rings would work on our wheels. They report back that they work and I'm ordering 6 new ones. 190/each. Contact Houston Gibson if you are interested. 800-251-6336 Ext. 241

Yes Victor, I did buy 6. However I have yet to install one as I never was able to find satisfactory tires.

John bought some blackwalls for his Victoria, and it looks stunning! I am sure he won't mind if I post a couple of pics... He used Firestones. 700 X 18, if I can read correctly from my pics...Do we have a thread on Tires?
