Victor I have mentioned this to you before about how my car has this heavy Steel Kick-Up over the Oak sills in my car . It mentions it on page 44 top of columns 1 and 2 . Now I know it came from the factory .Thanks
In the picture below you can see the angle where the front floor boards sit . There is a notch in the angle for the Brake Master Cylinder . There is bolts that go through this steel to the frame to hold it in place . Then there is many screws that go through the steel plate into the 1 1/2 inch wood sill . So the wood sill is basically in a steel sandwich . This is then covered by the finished floor covering in the car .
There is also a channel welded to the steel plate on each side to take a piece of wood that goes from side to side in the car . This supports the front of legs of the front seats .
