Here is a 8-31 for sale in the U.S.A.:8-31 for Sale on Prewar Cars928-208-5642$23,500Straight body. Runs and drives. Partially restored. Gas tank and radiator have been redone. Engine has been completely flushed out. Luggage rack and headlights have been re-chromed. Missing the chassis lubrication system.

If it is a running driving car I do not feel the price is outrageous although you are smart to figure out how hard some of the missing pieces would be. There is a project to reproduce the door handles for the 8-35, John & crew, are they the same as this car? Fender lights are very hard to find. The Bijur system should not be hooked up anyways as it makes a huge mess, although you want to hang the can and some of the lines. I see them every once in a while on eBay as they went on a few different cars. The fender lights are made of unobtainium so maybe a project is in the works? Side cover projects are sputtering along so there maybe a source although it could be expensive. They are nice but not absolutely required for the car. I think the dash should be all wood grain but I'll let the guys that know better chime in. One of the forum members is knee deep in a full restoration of a 8-31 and you should talk to him.
Obviously since we are all on this forum we are partial to these cars. I'm a fairly blessed dude in that I've been lucky to be around most of the great pre war classics. The Royale is the best looking of the affordable big boy engined Classics. The network is small but very supportive. A neat car to have for sure.

Also, Sparkee, you should do an introduction post up in the intros thread. You probably know this but the 8-31 is a shorter wheelbase version of the 8-35 with a few minor cost cutting differences. Mostly identical except for 4 inches taken out of the cowl and chassis. You get a better power to weight with the 8-31 since it is a slightly smaller car. They seem to be even more rare than the 8-35.
Welcome Sparkee I own a 1931 Victoria 8 -31 . That is a good price for that car . If you buy that car this Forum is for you there is lots of good information . If you want to contact me my email is nautical@cogeco.ca

Hi Tim, how did you get your invoice? Through the Reo factory or museum?

Thanks Tim.
